Pycon.It
Just bought my early bird ticket for Pycon Italy! The programme seems nice and there will be some social events like PyBirra and PyFiorentina. I not sure if I'm coming back everyday to Pisa or if I'll stay in Firenze... TBD.
Named After Scientists
It's impressive the number of streets named after renowned scientists that exist here in Pisa. Notable examples are Via Enrico Fermi, Lungarno Antonio Pacinotti, Lungarno Leonardo Fibonacci and, the city most well known son, Galileo Galilei who has an airport, a street and a square.
The reason for this is the Università di Pisa, together with the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies. The university exists, in one form or the other, since the 11th century and has many notable alumni.
